What's next?

We've gotten a lot of suggestions to add support for our international users (time and date format options), as well as many many requests to import iCal files. We're busy working on these two items, as well as continuing the bugfixes. Expect these features in the near future!

By the way, we're also aware of the bug with the Friends' calendar where the events all pushed to one day. This will be fixed soon!

Friends' Calendar!

Time for another feature! We've added a new "merged" calendar so you can see what your Friends are up to, all on one calendar! We've also added a way to display your calendar on your very own website!

In other news, some bugfixes:
- Fixed bug where the sms or email alert would not be updated for repeating events.
- Fixed bug where a Notebook entry could not be removed.
- Fixed bug where transparent elements caused IE to crash.

Update!

Thanks for all the feedback! It's 5-6AM and we're busy cranking out the next new thing for Planzo.

But for now, some answers: imports/exports from Outlook, Lotus, etc. are in the back of our minds. This will definitely be provided in the near future. Also, we will have better help pages very soon, once we have some free time! We're also working on re-enabling sharing events and commenting on events.

One of the questions asked was "How do I make an event repeat on the first Tuesday of every month?" Unfortunately, we currently don't provide this. The best thing you can do right now is to input it manually for every month (sorry!). Copying and pasting events in Firefox is currently in the works (ctrl-c/ctrl-v), but the clipboard is erased when you scroll to the next day, week, or month.

We'd also love to hear feedback about the AIM bot! If you haven't heard, you can AIM 'planzobot' for easy access to your own calendar, as well as finding where your friends are!

Recent features:
- Added the option of picking color schemes back! Click "Customize site's look"!

Recent bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug where dragging in between days wouldn't move
- Fixed a bug where returning to your calendar home after logging in would jump to random days
- Fixed a bug where event category would not change for repeating events
- Fixed a bug where the Edit Event window dragging would stick and not "let go"
- Attempted to disable text highlight selection in Firefox, but Firefox isn't ready for this yet!

Planzo 1.5

Planzo's gotten a complete overhaul. We've incorporated new Web 2.0 tech into the site and completely re-done things under the hood. The site may be a little bit buggier, but I'm sure everyone will be pleasantly happy with the new result!

Great new features include:

-Drag and Drop Events!
-Create an event by clicking, holding, and selecting the duration of the event and then typing in the name or double clicking for more options.

It's really easy to make events now! :)

We're back in full force and constantly adding new features on an almost daily basis!

Great news! Planzo's To-do list is up and running. Just click "todo" in the upper left corner of your Planzo page! It looks like all the major bugs found in the past three weeks have been fixed as well. We're definitely thinking of marketing the site soon and possibly even removing the "Beta" from it.

As always, if you'd like anything added to Planzo, let us know and we'll try our best to add it. Fun times ahead!

Wall Street Journal!

Wow, I never thought this would happen so fast, but Planzo's been mentioned in the Wall Street Journal online! You can check out the article here! Although I don't agree that Planzo's "treading water" (we're doing quite nicely thank you very much!), it's awesome seeing the site getting the same exposure as multi million dollar venture capitalist-backed sites such as Trumba. =)

Cheers!

Note Book and File Storage and AJAX!

After another couple weeks of development, I'm certain you've noticed at least some of the changes on Planzo. We now have a notebook section to write generalized notes and upload files. The three calendars on the right side are now coded in AJAX so you'll be able to scan through the months without the entire page needing a refresh. Pretty sweet, if I do say so myself! The interface is getting pretty slick. In the next couple of days we should have an AJAX-ed to-do list up along with a better file storage interface. Thanks to all the users of Planzo! Have a great day!

Welcome to Planzo.com's Developer Blog!

Greetings! On the spur of the moment, we've decided to start a blog to document the work we're doing on the site. New features, improvements, and upgrades are being added to the site at more than a weekly basis, and this is probably the best way to make our users aware of the changes. :)

First off, we've cranked out the cell phone reminder service that we promised our users. So now you can get reminders for all your important events even when you're away from the site! Personally, I find this amazingly useful since I tend to put driving directions from Mapquest into my "additional notes section". Now I can just get those directions directly from my phone and go directly to my event. We've tested it on more than one occasion and it works great. No bugs found yet!

Also, for those of you who haven't edited your profiles recently, we've added a "Just for Fun" section to spice things up and help planzonians get to know each other better. :)
